Are you living to die, or dying to live?

For many of us with life-long chemical imbalances and addiction problems we have lived not only in just a survival mode, but we have also somewhat given up on life because everything is filtered through the chemical discomfort and emotional weight that we must carry and daily endure. We have been living and waiting to die while we watch all the other so-called normal people pass by us and build what looks to be a positive future. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be negative, just realistic. How good would life seem to anyone if they lived with a broken leg that would never heal and just keep them in constant pain all the time? Well that is what living with a chemical imbalance and unhealed emotional pain does to someone, so it is no wonder they are always looking for pain relievers. They are in constant pain! Get it?

I want to encourage you today, that God wants a much better life and future for you, and He doesn't want you living in a constant state of misery and torment all the time:

JN 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (not to the half or 1/8th).

We must learn to die to live if we are going to remain free from addiction and by that I mean you have to cooperate with the Holy Spirit's daily work of setting you free from your selfishness, lies you have believed, self-deception, past unhealed emotional pain, character defects, chemical imbalances, and all that has been fueling your addiction problem and hindering you from going forward and living truly free.

MT 10:39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

It's time for you to stand up one more time my friend and say "I choose to live!". It is time to stop digging your own grave with addiction and to turn to the only One who can truly help you to find your life. Trust today that God actually knows and loves you, because He does. Do you love your children? Well that is how God feels about us and much more so. He knows the despicable things that we do in the dark but He still beckons us to come toward His warm light. This world is changing and the King will soon return. Jesus Christ can wash your wounded, broken, and stained soul and heart and cleanse it as white as snow again if you will ask Him to right now. Choose life and live.

ISA 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

RO 8:13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
