Another Day Forward
JER 7:24 But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations
of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.
When you quit an addiction your body, mind, and spirit, goes into withdrawals, and they will tell
you that you are missing something vital in your life that needs to be replaced. It can be easy to feel like you are going
backward, and not forward right after you quit something, because when you integrate an addiction into your life, the abnormal
then slowly becomes the normal, and when you deny it from your life, your life will try to put it back again. Trust that in
good time your withdrawal symptoms will in fact subside, and your life will readjust again back to the truly normal and healthy,
just like it did when it readjusted to the abnormal and unhealthy when the addiction first started. Every day that you are
free of addiction you are indeed going forward even though it might feel like you are going backward, so hang in there and
don't give up or give in. It took a while to get that addicted, and it will take a little while to get unaddicted. Pray when
the withdrawals are gnawing and nagging for God's help.
2PE 3:14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found
spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
