Breaking The Power Of Lust

MT 5:27 "You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery.' 28 But
I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Lust- Def: Intense or unbridled sexual desire (obsessive or nearly uncontrollable craving)
Lust is not just ogling someones body, it is also something we radiate that people
can feel. If you ever see someone trying to cover up for no reason when they are near you then chances are you may have a
lust problem. Lust is also an evil spirit with that nature that wants to find a human to express and gratify it's desires
through. The big problem with porn and masturbation is that it trains us to look at all people as a potential sexual pleasure
fix which carries over to our personal relationships, whether we like it or not. It also stores tons of porn in our brain
like a computer hard drive that cannot just be deleted. So these images pop up at some of the worst times and can distort
how we interact with people. Below is a list of things that you can do to break the power of lust over your life and to get
fully free.
JN 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set
you free.
1. Recognize and fully accept that you have a problem. Your thoughts and your eyes have been trained
by porn to look at people as a sexual pleasure fix and not just as a person. If people squirm and cover up around you then
you may be emitting lust, even unknowingly.
2. Learn and accept the truth about proper sexual creation, purpose, and function and match
everything up to that truth in your thoughts and actions. God created sex for mutual marital intimacy/pleasure and to have
children, nothing more. Anything beyond this is sexual error.
3. Renounce and repent of all forms of sexual sin and sexual perversion, and bind up all evil spirits
connected to your problem in order to break their power over you. Even masturbation is sexual abuse because you must lust
in order to do it. Normal sex includes your spouse.
4. Stop feeding your mind with sexual lies from the TV and Internet; and cease all abnormal
sexual practices even within your marriage. Accept only normal or nothing. If you truly want to get free, you may
also have to get filtered Internet, or get rid of your computer for a while.
5. View the opposite sex (or same sex if you are homosexual) as a creation of God rather than
a sexual fix. Train yourself to look people in the eye and not at their body. If you see God's hand of design in each persons
body, you are much less likely to lust and abuse it.
6. If you cannot have sex wait for a nocturnal emission or exercise in order to decrease the sexual
tension that you feel. Find ways to either meet your sexual needs normally and spiritually legally, or to decrease the
need in your body. Avoid all forms of sexual stimuli.
7. Be willing to be celibate if your abnormal sexual desires cannot be corrected right away. Nobody
ever died from not having sex and it is worth gaining your soul. Jesus said that the sexually immoral go to hell, so for your
own sake do whatever it takes to avoid going there.
8. Don't play with sexual things when you are needing a sexual release (toying with what you're
watching or doing to kind of skirt up to it). Lust is very powerful and once you indulge it even a little, it will
always require more. Lust always grows, and will demand gratification.
9. Retrain your mind with the truth every time a sexual lie either pops into your head, or
in front of your eyes. Only the truth kills a lie. It will be a revelation of, and obedience to God's truth that sets
you free. Also, ask God to to erase all the porn images stored in your mind.
10. Fill yourself up on God's life everyday and you will be much less likely to want to fill yourself
up with the death of sexual sin. There are 3 ways that you can get evil out of your life; You can drive it out, starve
it out, and/or you can squeeze it out with something good.
11. Remind yourself of the truth that those that sin sexually go to hell and every porn person that
you have viewed will face a judgment for each picture that they created along with those that viewed it. Jesus told
us to do whatever it takes no matter how extreme to stop sinning.
12. Remember that Jesus promised that if we hunger and thirst after righteousness (the ability to
walk in what's right) that He would give us a personal plan to do that. What may be impossible for you to change (like sexual perversion),
is possible to change with God's help.
MT 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this
is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Try to remember that your brain didn't get filled up with porn and sexual fantasies
overnight so it will take a little time to change it; but it will change. When you check and replace a lie in your mind
with God's truth it will progressively overwrite what's there, and instead of your old lustful nature, you will see the non-lustful
nature of Jesus Christ expressing itself through you. Just keep telling yourself God's truth, and progressively the lie
will have to die. Try to remember that you are doing this for you, and for your future. As I said, every porn picture you
see has a real person behind it that will have to give an account for that picture in front of God someday, so don't be part
of their judgment. Pray when you are tempted and ask for God's help, and in time you will indeed see the power of lust broken
over your life for good.
MT 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Here is a prayer to pray if you need it:
"Dear God, you know that I have a problem with lust and I just confess this to you
right now as sin, and ask that you would forgive me. I renounce and repent of all forms of sexual sin, sexual perversion,
pornography, masturbation, lustful imaginations, and anything else that has broken your sexual laws; and I commit myself
to walking in what's right from now on. I bind up any and all evil spirits of sexual sin and lust that have been active in
my life and I command you to be forever bound from ever entering my life again, in the name of Jesus Christ I do this.
Please help me God to truly and fully get free from all lust and sexual sin, and also please purify my mind and body from all
the sexual images and abuse that I have put it through. Heal me inside and out and make me sexually whole again Lord.
Thank you for forgiving me, healing me, and for helping me to change. In Jesus name I pray, amen".
.1CO 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do
not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10
nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And
that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
(You see in the above scripture that many people have had the same problems as you all throughout
history, but God was able to change and deliver them because they were willing. Trust God and be willing to let Him change
you starting today, and you will indeed be free!).
JN 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
