You Probably Won't Miss It That Much
Most of the addictions that we feel that we just can't live without are actually not that big of a deal after we
have been away from them for a while. We don't realize just how psychologically and emotionally we get addicted to certain
things until we first try to quit practicing them. But the amazing thing is that after a while of not having your addiction
in your life, you will probably not even miss it that much or want it back.
Addiction is really just a millstone around our neck and once that weight is gone for a while it can really be
quite liberating. You may have been a staunch smoker for 30 years, but after being away from smoking for a couple of years
you my not even want to be around someone that smokes anymore. We just don't realize how much of our addiction is really just
in our head until we have lived free of it for a good long while.
There may be an addiction in your life right now that you feel you would just die without, but once you are away
from it for a while you may not really miss it at all. There will usually be some physical and mental withdrawals for a while
after you quit something, but in time you may find that life is much better without the hassle of the addiction in your life.
Trust that as you quit, in time you won't miss your addictions.
JN 8:34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave
has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
