The Spiritual Set Up

1CO 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Ok, so you've finally gotten sick enough of your addiction and what it has been doing to your life to quit, and this time you really mean it. You've set the date and actually quit, but then something strange happens; just when you don't expect it these perfect circumstances show up right in front of you to relapse. Just a coincidence? I think not. This is a spiritual set up created by a an evil spirit meant to make things much easier for you to relapse again.

You see, demons get Satanic brownie points for every bit of damage that they can get a human to inflict upon themselves, plus they get to share in the pleasure of the addiction since they are attached to your life and body, so keeping you addicted is a win-win situation for them. The only problem is, it is always a lose-lose scenario for you since you are the one who constantly pays the price for what your addiction keeps doing to destroy your life.

I just want to encourage you today my friend, that even if a spiritual set up is waiting for you when you quit something, God is also right there to help lead you out of it if you will let Him. God will not let us be tempted beyond what we can say no to, so we really have no excuse when we choose to run back to our old addictions. This is your day to finally live free, so just say no to the perfect set up of relapse the next time one jumps in front of you.

JN 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
