LK 10:27 He answered: " `Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your strength and with all your mind' ; and, `Love your neighbor as yourself.' "
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return."
Above is a scripture and also a line from a song called "Nature Boy" which both talk about the greatest
thing in life you will ever learn is just to love. It really will not matter in the end what you accomplished here on earth,
it will only matter who you loved. Do people feel loved by you, or condemned, judged, criticized, or disapproved of? We all
wrestle with being selfish or unselfish in everything we do during a day, but the bottom line is that people don't need us
to be their personal drill sergeant, they just need us to love, accept, and help them.
1CO 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It
is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
The above scripture describes some characteristics of true love, and if we are doing the opposite
of these things, we are likely not walking in love. Because of our sinful, selfish, nature, love does not come naturally to
us; just watch two toddlers try to share a toy. We need to ask God to fill and flow through us with His love for people because
He never runs low. I would encourage you today to get on your knees and to ask God for more love for those He calls you to
serve in the earth, because the greatest thing we can learn is to love.
JN 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
