I just want to talk about some of the more negative aspects of pornography so that we can keep them in mind should we decide to partake of it. I'm sure that you could add some of your own negative consequences to this list. They are as follows:

1. Your mind records all the images that you view and you cannot get rid of them once you have seen them. The images may pop up in your mind at some of the worst times. Our brain is our permanent hard drive that cannot be erased or reloaded.

2. It defiles or stains your spirit and soul and you feel "dirty" after you have finished a porn and/or masturbation session. People can also sense this spiritual foulness in your soul and you may be exposed or avoided because of it.

3. It can ruin your marriage, relationship with your kids, friendships, employment (should you get caught viewing it there), family relationships, your reputation, your ministry, and worst of all your relationship with God.

4. It spoils your sex life since you are decreasing and desensitizing your ability to get normally aroused sexually by you mate. It breeds sexual selfishness, sexual perversion, and a lust for people other than your spouse.

5. It can cost you a lot of money and it may unexpectedly show up on your credit cards. Many people have gotten busted because they were unknowingly charged a huge amount of money for porn while on-line. Plus you get porn spam in your email.

6. It can get you into trouble with the law should you become involved with illegal porn or you act out your lusts on a real person through molestation or rape. Pornography always causes perversion and lust to grow, and eventually what you think, you will do.

7. It will lead you to hell in the end should you fail to quit. Once you draw your final breath it is then too late to repent. It is just not worth the risk of being sent to hell and living in torment 24 hours a day for forever. Nothing on earth is worth going to hell for.

God gave us normal avenues of sexual release either through our mate, or through a nocturnal release (wet dream), so we really do not need to turn to pornography to meet our sexual needs and we will have no excuse in the end if we do. It might be a good idea to print out these drawbacks and keep them near your computer or television to help you during times of temptation. I have also included a few scriptures below to help you as well.

^{MT 5:27 "You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery.' 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.}

1CO 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

REV 22:14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

MT 15:16 "Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. 17 "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man `unclean.' 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what make a man `unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him `unclean.' "
