MT 6:22 "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.
23 But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great
is that darkness!
The thing that happens when we indulge in our addictions is we let in evil spirits that are connected
to that particular addiction which we are practicing, and because of that voluntary cooperation on our part, that evil spirit
gains power over us because we have let it in by our volition of will. Demons need permission, and our actions give them automatic
permission to execise control over us. It's kind of like downloading a program on your computer that has spyware attached
to it that can control and influence it whenever it wants to do so. Spiritual spyware is permitting demonic control in our
life through the willful practice of that addiction.
MK 16:9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out
of whom he had driven seven demons. (Mary was practicing sexual sin)
This truth may be alarming, but it is something we as addicted people must be aware of. But just like
there are spyware removers for your computer, there is also a spiritual spyware remover called renouncing and repenting of
that addiction and then breaking the power of that evil spirit in Jesus name. The reason this is so important is that it will
be very hard to get free from your addiction problem even if you quit it if the spirit that has been pushing you to practice
it is still attached to your life. You see, if you want to change the condition of the fruit of a tree, you must first heal
it at the root level. God can and will help you to get free.
Below is a prayer to pray to remove any spiritual spyware from the computer of your soul:
"Dear God, I just renounce and repent of all "whatever the addiction is" (e.g. pornography,
drugs, etc.) and I ask that you would completely forgive me for every instance I have ever indulged in this addiction in my
life. I now command all evil spirits of "repeat the name of the addiction listed above" to loose me and to leave me
and my life for good, and to never be allowed to return. Thank you for setting me free this day God. In Jesus name I pray,
amen."
Repeat the above prayer with each separate addiction you have been struggling with and every time
you relapse. This will give you a much better chance of getting free completely.
MK 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;
they will speak in new tongues;
