GAL 6:1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.
Believe it or not, many Christians have serious problems with pornography and sexual addictions. This
short lesson is not meant to be judgmental in any way, it is only meant to help those that lead double lives, and who suffer
terribly from the harsh guilt and shame of practicing a porn addiction, and also being a Christian. Many pastors have porn
addictions. Since the Internet has come into our homes many sincere people have either been trapped in pornography, or in
an online affair, and because of this many divorces have taken place.
EPH 5:17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18 Do not get drunk
on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit (In other words, don't try to just meet your needs
through fleshly ways, meet them through God's ways).
So why would a Christian be drawn to pornography so strongly? Well for one thing their spiritual and
emotional needs are usually not being met and so they run around in a state of repressed desires and intense cravings for
something more. The Internet is designed to help funnel people towards porn, so usually it is just a matter of time before
they find it. People flirt with porn and sex chatting more and more until they find themselves in a trap that they cannot
get out of without God's help. It is truly a nightmare to be a Christian trapped in sin.
LK 12:45 (Jesus speaking) But suppose the servant (a Christian), says to himself `My master is taking
a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk (practice
sin addictions). 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware
of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers (Hell).
So how do you get free from sexual sin if you are a Christian? Well first of all you have to tell
yourself the truth that if you continue to do it, you will be sent to hell along with everyone else who does that and there
will be no distinction between you and an unbeliever. Next you have to get involved in whatever recovery that God leads you
to do and be accountable to the right people. Thirdly, you need to start meeting your needs in right and healthy ways, rather
than just denying you have them. Allow God to help you to get free from the dark pit of porn.
ISA 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they
shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
