Living By The Truth

JN 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

Truth is what God says it is because God created everything, so He is the only One qualified enough to tell us what is truth, and what is not. If you are going to grow spiritually and emotionally and be successful in life, you will have to be willing to receive and walk in God's truth about yourself, your life, and everything and everyone else around you. Usually it's pride, fear, or self will that causes us to choose to walk in denial and to stay stuck with our problems and immaturity's, but once you make the full decision in your heart to accept God's truth, you will then start to find relief and freedom from many old problems in your life.

EPH 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

Living by the truth means not making excuses when you do something wrong and just taking responsibility for it and apologizing. Living by the truth means not lying and making excuses for other peoples unwillingness to walk in the truth and just stating the truth in love when an issue needs to be resolved. You do need to be careful though about telling people the truth in God's timing and not just when you are really angry because we are all a work in progress, and we should pray much more than we correct. Living by the truth means facing your past for what it really was and then forgiving and letting it all finally rest in God's hands.

JN 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

The Spirit of truth, or the Holy Spirit, knows exactly what the truth is about everything and He is the only One we can fully trust to give us the real truth about things. So whether you counsel, need counsel, are trying to overcome a sin-habit, be happily married, raise kids, work your job, or serve the Lord, you will need the Holy Spirit and God's word to separate what is true, from what is false. All true growth and life success springs from a willingness to receive, accept, and walk consistently in God's truth. I just want to encourage you to let Jesus Christ who is "The Truth" help you to improve your life by sharing the truth with you.

JN 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
