Finally Forgiving Yourself

MK 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. "

In a very real sense, we all have a close relationship with ourselves, and when we do things that violate our own conscience we create a debt with ourselves that we must either forgive ourselves for, or be doomed to be forever at odds with ourselves inside emotionally. Plus, if you do not forgive yourself you will have a hard time forgiving anyone else, because if you do not believe that you are worthy of being forgiven, how can you believe that anyone else is?

ISA 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

We tend to not forgive ourselves because we always feel that we should have done better at the time, but just didn't. You must understand that everyone sins and misses the mark sometimes, you just don't hear about it as much. Satan wants you to believe that you are the most evil worthless person on the face of this earth, so the same evil spirit that tempts you to relapse into your addiction, will be the same evil spirit that condemns you afterward.

RO 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

It's time for you to finally let yourself off of the hook and to fully forgive yourself for all of the rotten despicable things you have done because guess what? We have all done these same rotten despicable things even though you do not hear about them. Jesus Christ died for all of your sins, not just some, and there is no point in nailing yourself up on your own self-made crosses because you can't pay for your own sin. Today is your day to finally forgive yourself.

1JN 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Here is a prayer to pray if you need it:

"In the name of Jesus Christ, I finally forgive myself for __________ (speak each thing that you are still ashamed about out loud one by one) because I now realize that if I cannot forgive myself, I cannot forgive others. I also declare this day that Jesus Christ died so that I could be forgiven for all of my sins, not just some, and if I cannot forgive myself I am really saying that I do not trust in His sacrifice on the cross for my sins. I repent of all sin-habits that have caused this problem in the first place. Thank you God for helping me to fully and finally forgive myself for everything wrong I've ever done, and I now stand completely clean and free from all of my past and sin for good. In Jesus name I pray all these things, amen".

* If you prayed the above prayer and meant it, you are truly free and forgiven my friend, and you should now feel a weight lift off of you emotionally and spiritually.
