Fantasy Or Reality?
Just like fire needs certain things to live, so addiction needs fantasy and lies to thrive and survive. If we actually
saw and faced the truth about what our addiction, we would see it in it's ugly destructive state and be repulsed by it, but
because we need it's pleasure to treat our unhealed emotional pain we live in denial and actually prefer the fantasy because
facing reality might threaten our ability to practice our addiction.
In order for us to get free and live free from addiction we will need to be willing to take the brave step to open
the door of our heart and let truth in. The main reason that most of us relapse is because we are entertaining the fantasy
in our mind and the lust for the addiction just grows and grows until we are running to gratify it. Addiction always takes
more than it gives, and it always hurts more than it helps you.
God gave us a guidebook for life called the bible that tells us the truth and if we read it then truth will get
loaded into our brains and eventually drop down into our hearts. In the end we give an account for all of our choices here
on earth so we must think of our future. When you leave fantasy and embrace reality you will be on your road to true and lasting
freedom from addiction. The choice is yours, fantasy or reality?
JN 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
JN 8:34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave
has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
